There are many different ways to promote a blog. But I personally think that using blog directory for promotion of blog is the best way. Blog directory can also provide the quality backlinks and traffic to blogs.

Yes blog directory submissions is really a good way to get quality backlinks and traffic. You can get the list from Google it self. Google is the best friend of us. Just type free blog directories or free blog directory list in Google search box, you will get lots of list with good page rank.

I agree with rudalf... google is the best source of information here... search like "list of free blog directories" or "high pr blog directories" to get them.
