Search engine optimization is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines.

All outside links pointing to a certain page of your site affect your page score in the eyes of the search engines.

Link Juice is the term used for how much benefit a link passes on, as not all links are equal. The term was first coined by a web marketing consultant, Greg Boser. Google’s version of link juice, is approximately the same as PageRank and Bing have Page Score, but it is not known how much the link juice factors into this score. A link is assumed to pass more link juice if:

• it does not have the nofollow attribute added
• the page the link is on is indexed by the search engines
• it is not detected by the search engines as a paid link to manipulate the rankings
• the link is not part of a link exchange
• the number of links on the page that the link is on are low
• the page that the link is on, has a lot of link juice pointing at it.

In the world of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), one of the most important things is getting your website to be among the first listed on search engine sites. If it shows up in the first page or two of Google or Yahoo, for instance, many more people are likely to visit your site. The term link juice is directly concerned in SEO, since this is the juice that will drive up your rankings and bring visitors to your websites.

You can get link juice from a variety of sources. Some of it can be generated yourself by submitting to social media sites like Digg, Reddit, and Buzz. The problem is that you have to get other people to recommend you from these pages so that your page profile starts to grow, and this is variable. Another way you can get link juice is by asking people with related pages to provide a link to yours, and occasionally you may be able to blog on other sites where you can mention your own work.

Higher the quality of link page, higher amount of link juice you would get, if you build links using high pr sites then you would get high amount of link juice.

Link Juice is how Google rates or ranks the quality, relevance, and popularity of your site. The total value of link juice coming into a webpage testifies to its authority or reputation.
